Description:
The term “old school” means traditional, an earlier era of methods, ideas, and styles are out of date. John writes to seven specific churches in Asia Minor revealing that he saw a new heaven and a new earth; the holy city—the New Jerusalem—coming down from heaven.
John teaches us that in the old Jerusalem God lived in the tabernacle or temple. But in the new Jerusalem, he proclaimed God’s dwelling place was among the people.
The new Jerusalem promises no more death, no funeral processions, no grief or sorrow. There will be no crying or whaling from affliction. There shall be no pain, sorrow, or remorse; for the old school is passed away and the new school will be in control.
