About the Book
John Mark was the son of Mary, a Christian Jew, whose home was where early Jews found shelter. Mark was either the cousin or nephew of Barnabas. Barnabas made several missionary voyages with Paul. Records reveal that Mark accompanied Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary voyage. For unknown reasons, Mark abandoned them at Perga. This forced Paul not to allow Mark to make the second missionary voyage with them, therefore causing a disagreement between Barnabas and Mark. Nevertheless, Mark is said to have been in the company of Paul when he was first imprisoned. Mark wrote this gospel between AD 63 – 66. The gospel was written or designed for the Romans (Gentile Readers).
Message
Not a week goes by without us experiencing some form of "blocking". Someone obstructs your view or hinders your progress. But not to worry because Jesus will meet you where you are, regardless of who is attempting to block you or stand in your way. Jesus will provide what you stand in need of. When Jesus picks you up, delivers you from the operating room, prevents you from an overdose, or spares you from your relapse, you ought to get your act together. Give Him the praise and your service.
