Central Passage
2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV
Subject
In the Right Relationship, Msg. 12
Description

After being so inspired by how the church in Corinth received his first letter, the apostle Paul wrote a second letter to them discouraging them from being unequally yoked. Paul encouraged Christian living and discouraged relationships with unbelievers as he found them opposite and wicked. He told them that now is the time of God's favor; now is the time of salvation.

This scripture suggests several principles by which Christians should live: We should not partake of idolatry, sin or immoral behavior. We should not desire a life of dishonesty, deception, fraud, or worldly admissions and pleasures. Though some might believe the scripture suggests being alone — and most people would believe having anyone in our lives is better than loneliness — the scripture is actually looking at the benefits of having complete satisfaction and peace in having the right relationship with God, while on earth, before going to heaven to live with Him eternally.
