ABOUT THE BOOK OF PSALM
In the Hebrew language Psalm signifies praise. The Psalter – as the collection of Psalms – is also called the Prayer Book of all churches and synagogues in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Its history spans the period from Moses to the Exile. This is the book to which the soul turns for devotional needs. There is no other book like it in all literature. No other book in the Bible truly magnifies God’s Word. No other book in the Old Testament sets forth the person or work of the Messiah…the Christ child. It is not known the circumstances why David wrote this book but one thing for sure, David knew first-hand what it was to receive deliverance and grace from God on many occasions.
THE MESSAGE
Benefits of insurance have become a major concern these days: Dental coverage, vision plans, medical leave, pension plans, paid overtime, and more. Things can become complicated. There are several types of benefits, one must have a sound understanding of the pros and cons of available insurance. There is term life insurance with options allowing you to prepare for the future. Whole life guarantees lifetime protection. Variable universal life also offers long term protection but depends on stock market performance. Many of them have set periods of time and other variables.
David is now an older man and reminds us not forget God’s benefits. Don’t get hung up on this election or what the media says. If we turn from our wicked ways only then will we hear from heaven. He’ll send whatever it will take to get our attention. God is a healer. He cares for our bodies. He performs healings naturally or miraculously. He redeems our lives from calamities known and unknown. He sent His Son to die in our place on Calvary’s cross. He crowned us with His great love and mercy. Don’t wonder what has kept and brought you through thus far. Trust it was Him.
David wants us to know that God also executes the same justice for all the oppressed. God is God to all. He humbles the proud and helps the helpless. God will repay. He will restore. Justice at times may not be just in our courts. But our God is the God of justice. Many of you may be worried about insurances: man negotiated benefits, but Matthew 6:26 reminds us to look at the birds of the air…yet your heavenly father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they.
