Following Jesus is not an off/on situation. It takes dedicated commitment. We can’t become entangled looking back at our past lives, we must look forward at the work Jesus has in mind for His church. He wants us to look straight ahead and leave our “old” selves behind.

The advice Solomon gave to the church was that we have some form of a plan in mind. Though we can draw it up however we will, the Lord has the ultimate word. God guides the speech and conduct of the leadership and membership when they give their hearts and minds to Him.
