The angels sat where Jesus had lain. The empty tomb represents the most holy place. Jesus’ body was the fulfillment like the Arc of the Covenant in Leviticus 16:2-4. The linen clothes are in line with Aaron, in order of high priests. Jesus—as our high priest, in the order of Melchizedek—left his linen, borrowed clothes behind after He had finished making atonement. And on Good Friday, He said, “It is finished.” And because He has risen, purified we too are no longer like filthy rags, and can change our garments.
