People come and go, but some cannot sit under the power of the holy Spirit for the Spirit cuts coming and going and will make you bleed. Understand that in no way is Paul saying that believers should not associate with unbelievers. Believers must function in this world with unbelievers. But scripture says that Christians must not enter binding relationships with non-believers.

Some relationships are in trouble; on the ropes. But I know a rope-a-dope Jesus who will make you the victor. So, hold your head up for that’s the match made in heaven!
