Paul, writing to new believers who were going through sufferings and persecution due to their faith, commanded them to rejoice always and fix their minds on Jesus. Pray without ceasing for it is through prayer that one gains the riches we have in Christ. And always give thanks to God for all things in the name of Jesus.

Sometimes in giving advice, there is caution. But Paul tells the Thessalonians to depend on the Lord in every situation. That’s sound advice!
