Luke focused on the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ as Savior for all who follow Him. 

When Jesus was 12, He and his family went to the festival in Jerusalem, according to custom. After the festival was over and they were returning home, His parent’s noticed Jesus was missing. He had stayed behind in Jerusalem, after a several-day search for their Son, they returned to Jerusalem and found Jesus in the temple courts sitting among the teachers and scholars, listening to what they had to say and asking questions. When she saw Him, Mary rebuked Jesus for not keeping up with the family on their trek. Jesus respectfully asked why they were looking for Him and politely told His mother that He had to be in His Father’s house.

As Jesus grew in consciousness, He also grew in consciousness of His Sonship. He reminds us that we often forget that the house of God is not just a building, it is a place of communion, where we can give the Father our worries, where we can give Him glory, where we can rest in our Father’s arms.
