We are called to be free—in the freedom that only God can give you—by faith in Christ; freedom from the servitude of sin. When and where there is love, there is no servitude. Love, working through faith, causes us to become humble.

Your self-defying freedom will mess you up. There will be no decency, nor order. In the church, when there is laissez-faire, it can lead to confusion, schisms and bondage. But John declares, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!
