1 Corinthians 1:10-17 NIV
Working Together, #7
The church of Corinth was divided over leadership. Some suggested Paul, another suggested Apollo, someone recommended Cephas, and some thought Jesus. Paul made a compassionate plea in favor of Jesus Christ. Paul tells his leaders that they should have a right motive and attitude, relying on faith in a higher authority. Paul always thanked God for them (and us) because of His grace given us in Christ Jesus. In Him, we have been enriched in every way. Paul reminds them that God will keep us for the end. He doesn’t just keep us for today. God is faithful with His son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. So, when we get together, it’s for the fellowship, edification, and lifting-up of each other. Therefore, there has to be an appeal, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
