The peace that Jesus offers is not of worldly comfort. It is a confident rest. When a believer learns how to handle anxiety, this is the kind of rest to be enjoyed.  When we trust God to perform His will, in this world, we will have trouble. Affliction, persecuted and tormented. But take heart. Be courageous. Be firm. Be of good cheer.

Not only did Jesus inform His disciples that there is worldwide trouble, tribulation. The same message is true today. Betrayal is alive. Denial is not a figment of our imagination. The world will stab us in the back; it will call us everything but a child of God. The world will mess up our civil rights and our voting rights. Sickness and worry are worldwide. But take heart for Jesus has overcome the world.
